10 Ways To Find A Good Pet Sitter

After turning down a record number of potential clients this past holiday season, an idea came to me.  

Just because we were too booked up to be able to accept these new clients, I still cared about their animals.  I wanted the clients to be successful in finding another good pet sitter, if not me.

I got pretty good at cutting and pasting email or text responses in turning clients down.  I would thank them for contacting me, inform them we were already booked and then I would supply them with a few other places to look for pet sitters.

Tired of having to turn people away, I worried that in their scramble to find a pet sitter they’d end up with sub par care.  Pets aren’t toddlers, but that still doesn’t mean that very bad things can’t happen to them, to your house, to the pet sitter, or harm to others while the pets are in a sitter’s care.  Pet care should be taken seriously!  That is why finding a good pet sitter is so important!

So I created a how-to guide for pet owners here in Austin.  Now when I am booked I can easily supply potential clients with a resource to help them find other great pet sitters.

Some would say I am potentially hurting my own business by offering this guide.  I disagree.  I am in the business for the animals, I’m not in it for the clients. When the pets win, we all win.  This town is full of new people & new pets moving here every day.  I believe there is truly an abundance here and will continue to be for many years.  It is cool to think I could be facilitating great pet-to-sitter relationships!
